Of Deception
Joshua 9:1-18

Circumvention & Deception
Satan has always been the chief and master of deception, and this year, he will be at His game. He is cunning at best as he did to Eve at the Garden of Eden. “Now, the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye, shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” Genesis‬ 3:1‬ KJV‬‬.

Investigation
Joshua took the Gibeonites words for what they claimed or said, “And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the Lord thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,” Joshua‬ 9:9‬ KJV‬‬.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

But they lied. Satan knows all the tricks in the world to cheat you out of your destiny, your reach, and your territory of blessings, wealth, advancement, etc. Joshua and the elders could not ask God what they should do nor send his people to investigate. Is not this our story? We have been misled by supposedly business associates, friends, minister colleagues, etc., in the same way. They came in disguise to search out our freedom or what God has for us or to do in our lives and robbed us blindly.

He is A Liar, The Lord Call Him
Satan is known for his lying game, and the Lord pointed it out without compromise. “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.” John‬ 8:44‬ KJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Watch Out
Caution. God’s Word gives a Word of warning concerning how we need to be on the lookout for deceivers. “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns or figs of thistles?” Matthew‬ 7:15-16‬ KJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬.‬‬

Familiar Spirits
Those operating with the spirit of deception or lies don’t come with a placard on their foreheads that “we are here to deceive”. No, they come as friends, loved ones, neighbors, etc.
God tells us, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John‬ 4:1‬ KJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father in the name of Jesus, we thank you for opening our eyes to the schemes and deceptive plans of the enemies of our soul and destiny; we receive the anointing of discernment to know the tricks of Satan in the mighty name of Jesus;
2. Father in the name of Jesus, we stop dead on their tracks all familiar spirits, liars, deceivers, and circumvents of our destinies and life of Impact this year; we release confusion into their midst in the mighty name of Jesus;
3. Father in the name of Jesus, we take back today every Blessings, inheritance, and territory that the enemy cheated or tricked us out of; Father, we repent and ask for forgiveness for any relationship, contracts, vows, oaths, and agreements we have signed or entered without seeking your wisdom and guidance;
4. Father in the name of Jesus, today we decree and confirm that no losses shall come to us this year and we shall never fall or become a victim to any of Satan’s deceptive works; give us the boldness to reject his evils and give us the grace to resist him at all times and levels;
