The whole world today has a task, to defeat a disease called coronavirus. Coronavirus has become a force that threatens the very existence of man and society. It is an unseen enemy that can only be identified by its symptoms. How can you defeat or combat an enemy that you don’t know, see or understand?

Therefore what we are witnessing today all over the world is leadership capacity to succeed or fail, and the key factor is COURAGE. In review, Vaccine is yet to be developed to counteract the threat of this pandemic, hospitals are being outrun with patients, nations budgets have reached limits, the majority of businesses are closed, and families are living in fear, and the key solution to all these is LEADERSHIP.

True Leaders are known in moments like this, and one of the tests is courage. Without Courage, the leadership quest is an unachievable dream. A great leader in the Old Testament called Joshua was to embark on a campaign of crossing unfamiliar territories, engage nations and in the process must defy the laws of nature and use unorthodox means. He will engage in battles in a bid to take the people entrusted to him to their promised land. A resounding word in the charge from the God of the earth was Courage. The Lord God himself told him that the stake is high and the feat will not be an easy undertaking.

Read this:
“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong (confident), and of good courage, you shall cause these people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only you be strong and very courageous that you may do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you. Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua‬ 1:5-9‬ AMPC‬

Three times the word “Courage” was used or mentioned. Now the question is why? “AFTER THE death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ minister, [Deut. 34:4-8.] Moses My servant is dead. So now arise [take his place], go over this Jordan, you and all these people into the land, which I am giving to them, the Israelites. Every place upon which the sole of your foot shall tread that have I given to you, as I promised Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon to the great river Euphrates–all the land of the Hittites [Canaan]–and to the Great [Mediterranean] Sea on the west shall be your territory.”

But before we go further, what is courage? According to Dictionary.com, Courage, bravery, valor, bravado refer to qualities of spirit and conduct. Courage permits one to face extreme dangers and difficulties without fear.
According to Wikipedia, Courage is the choice and willingness to confront agony, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. Physical courage is bravery in the face of physical pain, hardship, even death or threat of death.

One of the latent or inherent abilities in the human is the capacity to rise to defend himself in the face of danger or threat. Running away, flight, or succumbing to threat or danger is fear at best, but standing up to it in the face of obvious difficulties, is courage provoked.

*Why Do We Need Courage?*
1. Life itself is a voyage of discovery or expedition to the unknown. It takes lots of guts to embark on a task of searching out or obtaining answers or a solution to a riddle or puzzles where there is neither nor answer or solution. Therefore solution or answers to any problem or challenges is triggered by courage;
2. We live in a self-destructive world or society. Man has become his own worst enemy. We are victims of our own creation. To overcome the threat or danger of extinction, man must come up with an evasive mechanism, and it takes courage to come up with a countermeasure;
3. Quest for the good life. Life by its’ very self is the search for opportunities, therefore, must be engaged.
4. Opportunities are threats in reverse, and the key underlying factor is courage.
5. To overcome fear. Fear is an unpleasant feeling triggered by the perception of danger, real or imagined. Fear is an emotion induced by perceived danger or threat, which causes physiological changes and ultimately behavioral changes, such as fleeing, hiding, or freezing from perceived traumatic events.
6. To stay true to the task, whether it has to do with finding a cure to this coronavirus, serving the Lord, leading people, getting the job we need, living healthy life habits, building a successful business, raising healthy children, or making your marriage or relationship work;
7. To move to the next level. No promotion or elevation can ever occur without a test and passing it, for that matter. To face any test requires preparation, finding answers, and giving the right solution or answers.
‬What is the Platform Courage need in order to Function*

1. Right Motivation. Knowledge

“Moses, My servant is dead. So now arise [take his place], go over this Jordan, you and all these people, into the land which I am giving to them, the Israelites.”

Information is the bane for the courage to perform. At least having an understanding of what you are dealing with becomes the premise to engage. “This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.”

2. Right Backing or Support System
I believe courage is the possibility of an outcome. You face situations because there is a chance. “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.” Joshua‬ 1:5‬ AMPC‬‬
3. Faith.
Courage is faith anchored. It is the confidence in a word, statement of fact, or promises. “Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua‬ 1:9‬
4. Spiritual Leverage
You can call it intuition. You don’t see the solution, nor have an answer in front of you, but inside of you, you know and you know that you can do it. You hear something, “Then ELISHA said, Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: Tomorrow about this time a measure of fine flour will sell for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel in the gate of Samaria! Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, If the Lord should make windows in heaven, could this thing be? But Elisha said, You shall see it with your own eyes, but you shall not eat of it.” 2 Kings‬ 7:1-2‬ AMPC‬‬
5. Relativity.
One of Courage’s springboard is experience.
“And Saul said to David, You are not able to go to fight against this Philistine. You are only an adolescent, and he has been a warrior from his youth. And David said to Saul, Your servant kept his father’s sheep. And when there came a lion or again a bear and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and smote it and delivered the lamb out of its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard and smote it and killed it. PRAYER POINTS
1. WE NEED THE GOD KIND OF HEART. LIONHEART. Jo‬ 1:1-4‬
Father in the name of Jesus, grant your children, healthcare workers, nurses, doctors, nations, governments, President’s/Prime Ministers to have the spirit of courage, bravery, valor, bravado to defend her people against this pandemic. FATHER, in the name of Jesus, help the world leaders to face this extreme danger and difficulties without fear in the mighty name of Jesus.

2. IT IS TIME TO STAND UP AND FACE THE ENEMY. I Sam 30:1-7;
Father, in the name of Jesus, grant your people the Courage and the choice/ willingness to confront the agony, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation posed by this dreadful plaque; Father in the name of Jesus, grant thy people and nations government/leaders the boldness to rise to the challenges and defend himself in the face of this danger or threat.

3. EVERY SPIRIT OF INTIMIDATION MUST END NOW. Neh 6:10-14; Father, in the name of Jesus, we bind the spirit of running away or flying coming upon pour nation’s, government, church leaders to succumbing to threat or danger this Coronavirus poses but to fearlessly stand up to it in the face of obvious difficulties, in Jesus mighty name.

4. WE NEED THE RIGHT MOTIVATION. Joshua 1:5,8-9;
Father, in the name of Jesus, give your children the right motivation tonight and assurances of possibilities of a positive outcome. Joshua‬ 1:9‬
