Turbulence! Amidst Calmness.
How difficult these days to have your mind at rest or peace without the thick clouds of uncertainties coupled with Fear hanging over your head.
The human race is in a dilemma of survival. Yet the very history of life points to a man who alone guarantees a Rest in the hour of Storm. He says,
“Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.” Ps.91:5-7.
I once watched a movie, I believe is “The Bourne Ultimatum”. There was this scene where this reporter was battling for his life. The Secret agents were after him. Jason Bourne got a phone into his pocket and asked him to do exactly what he tells him. As long as he did what Mr. Bourne tells him to do, he was saved and out of imminent danger. Meanwhile, a sharpshooter with a telescopic rifle was within range just waiting for a clear shot. But then the reporter panicked despite of Jason Bourne’s plea to remain steady, calm, and be in kneeling position, but when he saw a janitor pushing his gears towards him. He got up to run, and he was shot dead.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.”
Isaiah 26:3-4 KJV.
