Achieving Exploit Day 1
God has always wanted His children to have the GOOD LIFE
“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth,” Genesis 1:28. And further on in God’s Word we are told, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, to kill and to destroy; but I am come that they might have life and that they might it more abundantly,” John 10:10.
God wants us to excel, to achieve great things and do wonders spiritually, mentally, physically and financially. He said to me and my wife couple of years ago, that He wants His people to do great exploits and have great rewards. He said to me, “nothing is going to stop you, stand in your way and hinder your life or ministry. The only one that will stop you IS YOU.”
There are two keys that will unlock this door of great exploits: GOD’S ANOINTING AND WISDOM. The Anointing (charisma) is another Word for the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost.
“But you have an anointing from the Holy one, and you know all things,” 1 John 2:20. Wisdom is the application of Knowledge; it is the ability to know how to use circumstances for your good and to the glory of God. (James 3:13-18)
SPIRITUAL EXPLOITS is the ability the believer has through Jesus Christ, to talk and walk like Jesus did. We are to follow “His footsteps.” John 13:15 Jesus said,
“ And these signs will follow those who believe; In My Name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; They will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17-18
Translating this scripture simply, you will be a master over your own home, over your own life and that of your family; you will be the architect over your own destiny under God’s watchful eyes; you will weld such strength to deliver the oppressed, break yokes and bondages and liberate the poor.
Achieving Spiritual Exploits takes time, dedication and commitment. To achieve spiritual exploits, do the following:
- Spend time in the Word-meditating and practicing the Word. (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-3; Romans 10:17)
- Spend time in Fasting and Prayer.(Matthew 17:14-21; Acts.13:1-2)
- Spend time in Praise & Worship. (2 Chronicles 20:18-22)
- Spend time working on your forgiveness.(Matthew 6:14-15; Mark 11:25-26)
- Spend time practicing Holy Living. (Matthew 5:48; Hebrews 12:14)
- Spend time walking in Love. (Matthew 5:43-47; John 13:34; 1 Corinthians 13:1-8)
- Spend time in sharing your faith with others.(John 1:40-49; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20)
- Spend time attending church services both Weekends and Weekdays.(Acts 2:46-47; Hebrews 10:24-25)
- Spend time to discover that there is blessing in corporate anointing.(Acts 4:23-31)
- Spend time developing and exercising your spiritual gifts.(2 Timothy 1:6-7)
- Spend time to work on your Giving.(2 Corinthians 9:5-10; Malachi 3:6-10; Hebrews 13:16)
- Spend time to work on your Humility.(James 4:7-10)
- Spend time volunteering your service in the House of God.(Acts 9:36)
- Spend time acknowledging and submitting to spiritual authority.(Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 5:5)
- Spend time setting your spiritual priorities and putting them in order.(Matthew 6:33)
- Spend time being fair, honest and truthful in your dealings.(Psalm 15)
Asking & Receiving
“Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.”Psalms2:8
I know most people like myself, are sometimes under the assumption that God knows or understand their needs and therefore need not ask him anything. Many will refer to the verse in the bible that states; “—for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him,” Matthew 6:8.
Asking and Receiving from the LORD is a covenant blessing.
It comes out of a relationship with a loving Father. “According as his divine power hath given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue,” 2 Peter 1:4.
God made a promise to His people, “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inwards parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people,” Jeremiah 31:33.
All through the scriptures we read of invitation from God to his people to come into his presence and present our request. Why? Because he knows our desires and he wants to satisfy them. Asking and Receiving is a Spiritual law.
There are laws and principles that govern all human disciplines, inventions
There is the law of aerodynamics; there is the law of gravity; there is the law of floatation and so on; so also is the law of asking and receiving. Romans 8:2 speak of “The Law of The Spirit Of Life In Christ Jesus.”
This law of Asking and Receiving states, that whenever you ask there is the Receiving. Meaning, whatever you ask from God, you are bound to receive it.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-10.
Someone may ask, why is this? The answer is, so that you will be happy and be fulfilled as a child of God.
The Lord Jesus Christ himself declares, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full,” John 16:23-24.
I had an experience one time where I misplaced a check. I knew I kept it in a safe place, but just could not locate it. You know how other activities cloud your day, and then you remember you don’t still have the check. After two weeks, the Lord spoke to me, “have you asked me to show you where the check is?”
Truthfully all this while, I assumed, the Lord will just cause me to stumble on it. It was on a Sunday morning as I was shaving. I asked the Lord right there to show me where the check was. Being led by the Holy Spirit, a voice within me said; look right behind you in the box of unused checks. I did and there it was.
God has promised his children, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end,” Jeremiah 29:11.
But there are times we ask things from God and we do not receive. There are reasons advanced in God’s Word as to why this is the case.
1. Is Not Asking In Faith. James 1:5-7. See also Mark 11:24; Hebrews 11:6
2. Is When We Indulge In Sin. Psalms 66:18.
3. Is When We Have unforgiveness In Our Hearts. Mark 11:25
4. Is When We Do Not Ask. James 4:2.
5. We Do Not Receive Because We Have The Wrong Motives. James4:3
Be Still
How we trouble ourselves unnecessarily; how we nervously live day to day walking in fear when we have El Shaddai on our side.
God has not promise us a life free from trials and temptations. In fact Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
In our day of famine (COVID-19), recession and cutbacks; when many families have lost their homes, jobs and businesses; when many find it difficult to feed themselves or find shelter; and when the back stabbings and attacks have intensified, how wonderful is it to know that there is still a God that cares and loves us passionately, and has promised to do us good at the latter end.
We are told in Genesis 26:1 that there was a recession in the days of Isaac, Abraham’s son; and just like some of us would do, Isaac was ready and willing to rely on his knowledge of past experiences to guide him. Isaac was planning to go into Egypt to live just like his predecessor did in a similar situation.
“And there was a famine in the land and: Abraham went down into Egypt to sojourn there: for the famine was grievous in the land,” Genesis 12:10.
The question here is not what happens before you are hit with the problem, but it is what you do after it occurs that makes the difference on whether you survive it or not.
“Behold the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him, upon that hope in his mercy,” Psalms 33:18. Everyone began planning and going in different directions. Isaac was about to do the same, until God told him not to go to Egypt, but to remain in Philistine territory of Gerar. This is the result of the relationship he established with God.
“Then Isaac sowed in that land and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him,” Genesis 26:12-14.
As you go through these hard times and these financial difficulties, God knows where you can glean, work, serve, or invest in order to yield a great harvest. Not everything that glitters is gold. Even though the people, the time and the opportunities are there, still wait on the Lord for direction or guidance. Are you hard pressed at the moment and it seems as if your back is against the wall? Do the circumstances lead you to believe that the only option available at this time is to compromise your faith and relationship with God?
God has promised never to leave nor forsake you. The strength of righteousness is obedience. The Lord Jesus tells us, “And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free,”
John 8:32.
Being Born Again
The uniqueness of life is the transformation of the human from death unto life. The term “Born Again” is not a religious dogma or a theological phrase to be dismissed by critics as commonly seen today. Without a doubt, the word “Born Again” is viewed by many as a terminology for fanatical Christians. That is men and women on the extreme side of Christianity. But in spite of the misguided opinion or conducts, the term “Born Again” orignates from the founder of himself, the Lord Jesus Christ. Christianity is not a religion, but a way of life.
“Jesus answered and said him, “Most assuredly, I say to you , unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” – Do not marvel that I said to, “You must be born again,” see John 3:17 (NKJV).
Why did the Lord Jesus make this statement? The answer is found in John 3:14-18
“And as Moses lifted up the servant in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life,” John 3:14-16.
THE FALL OF MAN AND HIS DOWNFALL
“And as Moses lifeted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,” Numbers 21:4-9. God speaks to us in metaphors, similar, shadows, figures and types. (Hebrews 9:9)
All truths are parallel. Why are the words “perish”and “everlasting life” used by the Lord Jesus Christ? “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23.
You may ask what is sin? How and where did this all begin? How am I affected by this?
“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin,” 1 John 3:4-5 (KJV).
Sin is living a life that is contrary to God’s Word. All this began in Genesis 3:1-8.
Their disobedience brought sin, condemnation and death upon mankind, and as a seed and offspring of Adam and Eve, we have become partakers of that death. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned,” Romans 5:12. God made Adam and Eve a free moral agent or being. He gave them power of choice.
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat; But of the tree of the knowledege of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die,” Genesis 2:16-17.
But with every choice we make, there are consequences. Every sin and disobedience must be punished. “For the wages of sin is death,” Romans 6:23.
“And as it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judegement:” Hebrews 9:27.
When Adam and Eve sinned, there were three types of death that took place in mankind:
1)Physical Death – the separation of the human spirit and soul from the body . Genesis 6:3; Man is made spirit, soul and body. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
2)Spritual death- the separation of the human spirit, soul and body from God’s spirit and life, Genesis 3:9-10.
3)Eternal death – the final separation of man’s spirit, soul and body into the lake of fire forever and ever. Revelation 20:13-15.
“And I will put emnity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel,” Genesis 3:15.
“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one day die; yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commandeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,” Romans 5:6-8 (KJV).
Being Confident
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
Confidence is a powerful mental and emotional force which spirals into the faith realm of our being. It is like the umbrella that overshadows all human achievements and endeavors. It is the trust line from which we pull and anchor our plans and purposes.
In today’s world, reliability and dependability is a valuable commodity. For the past couple of years, confidence in local, national and international governments has declined. Organization and business confidence have diminished. Family and individual self-confidence reads almost minus 10 on the confidence scale.
No wonder we see a rise in the prevalence of anxiety and depression. No wonder we tend to scrutinize and judge more often than we even consider trusting. In a shaky world like this, there is a man although unseen, but heard of universally, who is reliable, dependable and trust worthy. This man is Jesus Christ.
He himself declared this, “I am the good shepherd: the good Shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep,” John 10:11-12.
“Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not in habited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when the heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit,” Jeremiah 17:5-8
Do you feel your level of confidence in God in eroding?
Hold on and consider the fact that God has never, in all of His career and creation, had an abandoned project. He will finish what He has started in you.
Cast Him Out
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;” Mark 16:17
One of the great ministries of a child of God is the divine ability to cast the devil out of their children, their home, their spouse, finances, job, business, and health.
It is one of the signs of a child of God who has claimed his/her place and rights in the kingdom.
“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven,” Luke 10:17-18.
We have the ability to resist the devil. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you,” James 4:7
To resist Satan is to reject (with firmness) his schemes, methods and means of operation by a strong, bold and firm mindset and spirit.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,” Ephesians 6:11.
This is a straight, strong and uncompromising spirit of the believer, saying no to Satan and his demons each time he approaches. Let’s look at areas where we need to focus our deliverance efforts:
1. Obsession
2. Oppression
3. Possession
Obsession focuses on Satan’s control of the mind. This is when someone becomes delusional.
Satan takes over the senses, directs the intellect, will, and emotion. He/she begins to hallucinate, hear voices and to see or interpret things from Satan’s point of view.
“But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men,” Matthew 16:23
There was a brother I once knew on the campus whose mind was overtaken by Satan. Whenever he saw beef and chicken in a well prepared meal he believed it to be human flesh. He once told me he was getting married and he talked about the woman all the time. One day I asked him who this woman was. He said “she is married, but I believe she is my wife and we are going to get married.” I asked him who will pay the expenses. He said, his elder brother will take care of the bills. He is out of his mind, I told him.
Oppression is a condition where one suffers untold hardship and difficulties at the hands of Satan.
“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure,” 2 Corinthians 12:7.
Victims of oppression are always ill all of the time, their finances are always under attack, his/her family or loved ones rise up against them; they become victims on their job; witches oppress them at night either physically or sexually; they are being chased in their dreams; their neighbors pick on and fight with them; their vehicles brake down and their children become rebellious.
“ Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us,” 1 Thessalonians 2:18.
Possession is a compulsive act to commit the works of the flesh.
“And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly,” John 13:27.
People who are possessed lose control of themselves and cave in under the pressure within them; the compelling voice/pressure to do something that goes against God’s will and in most cases to do the bidding of the kind of demon that has taken control of their body.
Who Gives the Saints the Power to Cast out Demons? THE LORD JESUS; Mark 16:17-18;
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son,” Colossians 1:13; Jesus Christ the Anointed and His Anointing. (Mark 1:21-27; 16:17)
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:19-20
Jesus Christ defeated Satan and his demons.
“And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it,” Colossians 2:15
The Word of God (Matthew 4:1-10) and the Spirit of God (Matthew 12:22-30) are used to cast out demons.
“And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatic, and sore vexed: for often times he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him,”
Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting,”
Matthew 17:14-21.
How can we minister deliverance?
First practice ministering to yourself, then your loved ones and to the saints; lay hands on the part being oppressed, then with a strong voice, say “Satan, I reject your pain, etc, loose your hold and get out now, in Jesus Name.”
1.Watch ministers who are truly anointed with deliverance ministry and see how they do it.
2.You need patience and endurance when ministering deliverance. Satan is stubborn and will not want to leave. You may have to pray several times, but maintain a consistent stand and confession.
You cannot flip flop and expect Satan to leave. Demons watch your actions. As you use the Word against them, you and the Word must be One. Be firm; be consistent; be fearless and be bold.
Caution
“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:15-17
How quickly we rush to judgment and how suddenly we trust our instincts on matters and issues of significance.
Do human beings sometime have the tendencies to assume or come up with the wrong perception and diagnosis on individuals and issues? The case of Joshua with the Gibeonites paints a good picture.
“And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai, They did work wilily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up; And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and mouldy. And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us. And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD. And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them. And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt among them,” Joshua 9:3-6, 14-16.
What happened here? How did Joshua, the Priest, Prophets and all the elders around miss this? Does this sound familiar? Has this not happened to us? In our choices of life partners, jobs, health plan, ministry and business partners, etc, the sales pitch was superfluous, everything appeared good and we were mesmerized.
Joshua and his people could not detect the trickery and deception of the Gibionites because as the scripture pointed out they“asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.”
No doubt about it, as humans we are limited and vulnerable to circumstances and conditions in our immediate environment. It is difficult most times to cross all the “t’s” and dot all the “i’s”. We are imperfect humans in an impact world. But that is where God comes in.
What makes us whole and complete is the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Colossians 2:8-10
The key to avoiding these types of mistakes is by operating the CAUTION code.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world,” 1 John 4:1.
To test or try their spirit is to watch their lifestyle, conversation and carefully evaluate their belief system. The Lord has given believers a discerning spirit to learn what humans are made up of. John 2:23-25; The Lord Jesus has given us His Holy Spirit as our guide in our choices and decisions. “But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth,” 1 John 2:20-21. Jesus said, by their fruits, ye shall know them. Matthew 7:16.
